Stop eating all that extra sugar

August 25th, 2009UncategorizedThe American Heart Association says that Americans are swallowing more than 22 teaspoons of sugar each day, mostly coming from soft drinks and candy, and it’s time to cut way back.
To check for sugar contents, look at the ingredients on the back of the can or wrapper. Keep an eye out for sugar (duh), corn syrup, fructose, dextrose, molasses or evaporated cane juice, on the label, all of these contribute to Americans’ overconsumption of sugar.
The 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day does not include naturally occurring sugars found in fruit, vegetables or dairy products.
